Magic: The Gathering
まじくう~!
Wow, it has been forever since I looked at my Magic cards, but I was walking around the University yesterday on the way back from a club meeting and I saw all these kids huddled around in Starbucks (at 11PM of course) playing a card game. So I walked up and saw it was MTG, lands were tapped, creatures were attacking, and instants were being played so I stared…

My Metropolis Crumbles
Things sure have been interesting lately… Still haven’t been able to get out much and I have been super low on funds due to no job. I have a job interview tomorrow, so we shall see how that goes.
I am now into my 5th week of school, and I am really enjoying the majority of it. Some of the classes aren’t THAT interesting, but I am really having fun with Japanese Class. I can...

The Perfection of "Things"
So I watched a documentary that a NY film student made on Daniel Ebihara and a lot of what Ebihara Sensei said really connected with me. One thing that really stood out to me is the opening scene when he described in his mind what Kendo ‘was’.
He says it is “The perfection… of doing… things”
I really took that to heart and thought, Kendo is not just about...

Traditional Calligraphy of Monks, Priests, and Poets.
An amazing exhibit that I was able to attend at the Morikami recently opened my eyes to some incredible work. All original pieces from the 1500’s to the 1800’s, which was great considering my fond interest in the Edo period. A lot of the pieces ranged from introspective poetic works, to Zen driven insights, to very deep yet...

Chibi Pa 08'
This weekend was quite the interesting one. I missed out on Kendo practice due to an overall lack of funds and also because there was a Anime Convention in town that a friend of mine was actually vending at. (Hooray for free passes due to the grace of others). The convention itself was a bit lackluster but there were good times had by most.
Fushu Daiko’s Taiko performance was definitely one...
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY
How crazy it has been. First in Kendo this morning I had my first keiko matches ever in full bogu. It is a completely different world, but so much fun. Then, I go to the beach with my best friend and my girl friend and I get the best boogie board ride of my life. How cool… Now if only this general tso’s chicken comes out decent…
Everything else fades away...
As I sit at my college, in a lab full of clutter, tutor instruction, and dissonance. I put on the headphones, turn on the performance and everything else fades away. My world becomes the tone. My world becomes an ideal. It becomes my understanding.
The Last Waltz
So i finally succeeding in my seemingly never-ending quest to find the sheet arrangements to ‘The Last Waltz’ from the Oldboy OST. God Bless Youtube and the hideous amount of attainable information (free, of course). I started working on the beginning keys and dynamics. When I have it complete I will work at a nice recording to share. I can’t wait.
There is a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line.
